GUESTLECTURE ON CREATION AND COSMOLOGY BY WILLIAM E. CARROLL
On Thursday, March 17 2016, Professor William E. Carroll (Oxford) will give a lecture at our Institute. The title of his lecture will be: Creation and Contemporary Cosmology: From Stephen Hawking to Thomas Aquinas.
The lecture will be an analysis of the ways in which developments in contemporary cosmology are being used both to deny and to support the traditional doctrine of creation out-of-nothing. The ways in which Thomas Aquinas distinguished among the natural sciences philosophy and theology can be help to defuse much of the confusion in contemporary discussions about the relationship between cosmological theories and the doctrine of creation.Prof. Carroll is internationally renowned for his publications on the relationship between the Christian conception of creation and modern science.
